Or why I call this "Managing the Chaos of Life"
Published on June 15, 2005 By Chaos Manager In Misc
I was listening to the radio yesterday on the way home from the office. I heard a song playing that I've been hearing for several years. It's by Joe Diffie and is called "Third Rock from the Sun". It's a song about how, even when everything looks chaotic and out of control, if you look close enough, there's "a chain of events. Cause and effect."

All of life is this way. It seems that everything going on around us is random and out of control. If you look deep enough, you can see the underlying patterns and understand that there is a reason for everything.

It is this underlying pattern that reinforces my belief in God. There is no way, to my understanding, that all of this order, predictability, and complexity could have just happened as an accident.

So, I'm just another person here, managing chaos, and trying to make sense of the pattern underlying all of the wackiness that happens around me in life.

Cheers!

Interesting observation Chaos. Somehow I guess it happens to everyone at one time or another, where they ask themselves, how did this happen or why did this happen to me? And like you said, it's only upon deep investigation into your habits or way of life can you come to the conclusion how you got yourself into anything! Sometimes my life is chaotic and I wonder why it always seem to be that way. Then there are times when everything just flows and fits perfectly and you still wonder at that! Ah well, I haven't found my theme song yet but it's great you've found yours! BTW, I loved the comedy Thrid Rock from theSun!

"Order is an illusion,
Control our comforting lie
From chaos, through chaos into chaos we fly"

That's a quote from a Arthur C. Clarke, Stephen Baxter co-authored book I once read called The Trigger. They attributed it to some poet but I forget which.

A very fitting quote to anyone's chaotic life! It's amazing you remembered that quote, it's a mouthful!

Yes, cause and effect. So true. If I mess up like I did this month, don't put papers away where they belong then I suffer
the consequences. The consequences being "no receipt, then no cash, but a gift card instead"
Someone used to tell me, "if you're not paying attention, the universe will drop pebbles on your head, and if
you still don't pay attention, then rocks will fall!".
In my case it's been bolders.
Soooooo, time for me to listen up and move on.

Oh believe me I'm a minefield of useless information, being near me comes with the constant danger of being embedded with the shrapnel of trivia.
